Because what flag day does is that it changes peoples lives.

And all the taitais with big hair think i'm hot.

Ok no, so they just pity the girl.

But i'd rather think its because they think i'm hot.

Which is still quite wrong right?

Today while gardening, i made a new friend!

I was watering watering watering, when i decided to jet some water into a brick for fun.

So i did!

And then a little head popped out and i stopped. I looked closely, and saw that i was in the presense of a mole, i think.

It didn't look like a mouse, nor a rat. It looked like those moles you see in childrens picture books.

It was amazing!

I decided to name it Rodey. Because then i didn't know what it really was. But i figured it was a rodent and so named it Rodey.

Haha, hi Rodey! I'll see you tomorrow!

And i made the haze at the christmas tree again but it wasn't very pretty because there was no light.

But it still was fun.

Hi. So today, a certain human like brother of mine and i recieved an urgent order from the mother ship! A task of the utmost importance it was.

We were to water the plants.

At precisely 8pm at night, we were given the huge responsibility of saving the thousands and millions of lives just right outside. It was a pressure like no other.

And so the adventure began.

Our father sent us off. Taught us the necessary information that we should know, how to hook up the hose, and how to come back. Which was very important. Its a big world! We could get lost out there! But no. We are survivors. No matter what was going against us, gravity, time, the darkness, or be it our total lack of experience! We were ready.

Armed with the hose. One the belayer, and the other the belayed. As we hiked towards the furthest part of the green, pulling and struggling our life line, i contemplated todays task. Mayhaps it would be an easy one. We are merely bringing drinks to the victims of the Suns scorching hands. And it was now night. We are on a different turf. This, we knew, would be in our favour.

We reached our destination. My brother lifted the hose and painstakingly imparted his knowledge to me. Strange! How so much water they must drink! One must soak the soil to a plentiful, and scatter the liquid grains on barren land. I watched in awe. Mentally jotting down the notes as i knew that as the odds were in prime numbers, i must accomplish this task again. Mayhaps, even on a regular basis till Indonesia Siti returns from her current escapade.

We trudged through, making the fountain pretty. Words like "Michelle" and circles of "life" were formed. What a very pretty picture it was. Into the pots they jetted, flying to the roots. We are here now, do not despair. We are here to save you.

I asked my brother, please, may i try? And as he carefully passed the hose to me, a certain amount of responsibility was also given. He moved behind to be the belayer, and now i, the belayed. I wasn't doing it right. They needed more to drink! Who knew feeding was so hard? THe human instructed me, as i made it pretty. Suddenly, something came to me as a jolt. Brotherman! I had seen Indonesia Siti do this special act before! I know not what it is for, but mayhaps i could give it a try?

I did. And with as much precision as a kangaroo on a tramboline, i slid my thumb to cover the half the mouth of the hose, and turned the fountain, into a haze.

It was even prettier.

We were nearing where we came from! I did my best to save whatever i could. I did not want them to go thirsty, nor did i want them to drown. If only they could speak. But then again i suppose it would be rude to speak with a mouth full of water.

We made another switch. It was the final lap now. Belayer! I need more slack! The Humanther said. I gave him more slack. I looked behind me. Oh the horror! Our life line had spread out over the entire garden! I had my own job now. I had to pull them back.

So i did, as the HubroWong gave the palm tree 13 cups of tea. I was amazed. Our life line fell on the green carpet in twirls and twines of all sizes. My feet were getting dirty, and i had taken a shot from the hose. But we were not done yet. No, no we were not. Not until, we gave the gift of life to our 21 year old Christmas tree. Not until then.

I moved away, i was no longer needed. My brother started watering, carefully ofcourse! We wouldn't want to hurt the gnomes and pixies who live within its wintery branches. What a very tall tree. My brother the artist, decided to make a shimmery haze. But wait! What is that we see? Are those actual rays of light?!

Just like it came out of a picture, we saw. The thickest rays of pretty light through the haze. We watched for a few more moments and we knew that our mission had been accomplished. We must end now. I tried, i tried my best to turn the nob but no! It was too strong!

Or mayhaps it was i, that was too weak.

But while i was left to find conflict with myself, my brother took on that tideous task of cutting of the life supply. And it was done.

Our father, just like he was when he went to send us off, came back to bring us home. He taught us how to keep the precious hose properlly. Unplug, and wind it in a motion from left to right, left to right. My brother winded, i guided the rapid movement. All of a sudden it looked like a thin green snake, coiling its log self along a branch. I tried to lug it back to the shade, if not the rubber would turn stiff, but once again could not! My father sent Human to drag it to the shades. As i stood there, babbling about how useless i was. And thinking to myself about how i would not let this happen again.

I looked at our jungle, our tame jungle of flora and fauna. Of dying palm trees and potted
bougainvillea. This was our responsibility now. This was our responsibility.

I felt accomplished. Trial and error, i liked to call it. We had done well.

And as we walked back to civilisation, our father pointed to the concrete and said to us,

"Look how much water you wasted!"

And this! My dear friends as we learn in literature, is called irony.

Dramatic irony :D

Dear washing machine who did the boogie and fell,
I really must wish you well.
Through the night you must lie,
Too heavy, feeling like you might die.
But do not worry! For when dawn breaks,
We'll don our imaginary expedition hats,
And save you once again.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!

Okay, okay. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

Alrightyoh. So Siti left today, i know i know. How will i survive. Said Siti.. Sarah.. My entire family.. But you know what? Its okay. Its all chill. I will be a good family member and do what we family members do. Which is what, i don't know, but i can do it XD.

But on with the story!

So apparently the upstairs toilet has been leaking. And we all wonder why. It seems to come from the ceiling! How strange! So this morning when the taxi came to send Siti off, my mother looked outside from my bedroom window and saw, aha! It seems some tiles have broken! And so she tells my father when he gets back to work.

Me being the non kaepoh that i am stay on the computer. Not noticing the bumbling activity outside. When finally my father calls on me, to do my Wong young sister duty. I go outside, and see a tall ladder. And i help my dad assemble that tall ladder. What a feat. And i watch in awe as he steady's the ladder against the lower roof, and attempts to climb on to it.

I laugh.

He then shifts the position, and tries to climb up it again. And there i am, on the ground, watching my father climb up the ladder and standing on the roof like a superhero.

I laugh somemore.

I wish i had a camera! And before i know it, he calls for me to stand under somewhere protected and he throws the broken tiles off the roof!

Throw! Throw!

Then my mother and brother come back! Hoho, i must tell them about my father!

I rush.

I grab the camera, as they watch my father in action.

I run upstairs to my window.

Haha! I see my father there on the roof like Spiderman. Its seriously so cool. I start taking really bad pictures because i kept laughing and shaking the camera.

My dad is so cool :D.

The pictures are hilarious! I can't post them though. My dad will complain about his bald spot.

Haha, kidding!

But it was so so so cool. And funny. Still dying of laughter here.

Then we took some shots of him as he went down the tall tall ladder. I salute.

So now there are broken tiles all over the garden. But it will be a constant reminder of what happened today.

IT WAS SO FUNNY! REALLY! You just had to see it!

BAHAHA, yay for dads and what they do :D:D!

If those are the things that happen while Siti is away, i think the question "How will i survive" applies to all of us.

Siti. Hi, where ever you are now. I hope you're having fun :D. We miss you! Its only been 9 hours but still. We're having fun. Okay, i'm having fun. I know you are too. I know if you were here today you'd be laughing right along with me. I know you, i know you will. Then you'll go hide in your room and pretend you didn't. Don't think i don't know. You'll go "Michelle don't laugh!" And secretly laugh to yourself. And then i will jump up and down and crush a millipede with my bare foot. Bad memories.

I miss you! 30 days and 15 hours till you come back. See you soon!

Every year in the first harsh bitings of winter, the emperor penguins retreat from their haven in the sea of Antartica, and make their long journery to Oamrock, a place deep inland. Where the ice is hard strong, and safe. In two caravans, the male Emperor penguins meet the female Emperor penguins, sledding on their bellies and waddling, to the place of the great ball. Where they will dance and sing nad make merryment. And where they will fall in love.

As if thrown into a sudden speed dating number, the penguins scurry. They sing and listen, looking for that sound which warms up their fragiles hearts, which were left cold from the summer before. More females than males caused great disruption! Slaps of fury were batted from one wing to anothers body. Fighting for attention. But amidst the cries, songs, and slaps, two penguins meet, and dance.

The love between them rekindled like that of a forlorn husband and wife, seperated for years and finally brought together again. With their sweet silent dance they love, and make as one. There is nothing left to do now. They must wait.

The passing of the 3rd moon marked the X on the calender which the penguins had live by. Happy birthday dear ones! To those which are laid. The mother is exhausted, she must feed and ultimately feed her young one. Like experienced, understanding the couples, they pass their egg from mother to father to keep warm under its feathers. For those which are hasty, the young do not survive. They do not have a goal anymore. The mother then makes her long journey back to her haven, to fill her stomach. While the father protects their egg through the harshest of the winter.

He has not eaten in 4 months, and is growing weak. They huddle close together and move around in a circle hoping to keep warm of each others backs. Carefully, ofcourse, as their child is in their care. Through the storms she trudges. And when she finally meets the sea, they have a party! Eating as much as they can and keeping warm in the lovely blue. Unforeseen a monster attacks one with a clasp of its jaw, and took two lives. One, of the mother herself, and the other, of her unfed baby.

She makes her journey back to Oamrock, hurrying as she hears the pleas of her dear one saying "Where is she? Where is she? If she does not come back by sunset i must leave to find food on my own, abandoning the baby and journey with what little energy i have left." She hurries.

The egg has hatched! We are parents! The father fed him with what little food he saved in his beak. By the horizon we see a medly of black and white, hurrying to greet them. Oh what a lovely baby! Oh how lovely our baby is. Again, with the utmost care, the father passes the baby to the mother, to keep warm. He must eat, if not he shall die. He sings his last song to his baby, in hopes that he will remember it, and recognise it in time to come. And once again, the lovers are seperated.

He embarks on his journey. Many die along the way. Back at Oamrock the mother feeds her hungry child. Around her she sees the carcasses of those young ones who met their frozen death. Jealousy spews. A mother overwhelmed by the loss of her child may decide to steal anothers baby! But don't worry, the mother whispers, i will protect you.

Time passes and the babies grow to be toddlers. They must then go out on their own, and be independent! It is so cold mother! They cry but meet the same reply. They must be independent. So they huddle together like their fathers once did, keeping warm. More childishly ofcourse. As they await.

Months pass, when the fathers return again. They sing and listen! Looking for their children, recognising them by their song. They found each other, and the child eats.

They are not as hungry anymore. Maybe its because they have grown up. But now the time has come for them to leave again. With their final journey, the lovers seperate. As their baby is now all grown up, ready to go to the ball, and dance.

(Adapted from The March Of The Penguins :) )

I WATCHED THE MARCH OF THE PENGUINS!

WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY LOVELY SHOW!

What an absolutely beautiful show!

It made me want to go to Antarctica and study them. I wonder what my parents would say about that :D.

But just imagine waking up to see the extraordinary creatures.

How breath taking it would be :).

Listening to: I'm Yours - Jason Mraz

Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
and now I'm trying to get back
Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my bestest
Nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love
Listen to the music of the moment maybe sing with me
i love peaceful melody
It's your God-forsaken right to be loved love loved love loved

So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
My breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and laughed
I guess what i'ma saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanity and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
this is our fate, I'm yours

Well no no, well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find the sky is yours
Listen to the music of the moment come and dance with me
A l one big family (2nd time: A l happy family; 3rd time: A l peaceful melody)
It's your God-forsaken right to be loved love love love

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

No please, don't complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

No please, don't hesitate
no more, no more
It cannot wait
The sky is your's!
