THIS POST IS DEDICATED TO WONG SU ANN.
BECAUSE APPARENTLY, ONLY SHE UNDERSTANDS.

I am quite disturbed by the recent turn of events.
Zhaoxinu, under the impression that Jumong was dead (i love how i'm mixing the chinese and korean names here), married Youtai to save herself from being Daisu's concubine. This leads up to the later development of the story that i saw by chance while being kaepoh. When i read the spoiler, i believe i moped for the entire day, smsed random people expressing my grief, and became a hollow shell of a person. It was devastating. It felt like i had hit myself with a rock. Repeatedly. And then like tripped and fell into a burning pit of raging fire or like when you hang your cardigan on a hanger and the sides poke into it and you end up with big puckers at the shoulders that are not supposed to be there.
Sorry, rant. Poor cardigan! I knew i should have folded you!
For the record, i know you don't care. Many people don't care.
Only Su cares. Yay Su!
Its become a habit of sorts.
After every episode, my father will retire to the study room to do work. Then, the daughter (which is me) would stroll into the study, plop herself down on the sofa and bless him with some fun fact (i like fun facts) about the show or make wild predictions of what is to come.
Like, fun fact number one! Song Ii Guk and the guy who played Dae Joyong acted in the Korean Drama, Emperor of the Sea before. I have never heard of that show in my entire life. But i thought it was interesting so i told him anyway.
Or, fun fact number two! I love how they reuse the same actors to play supporting or minor roles in the dramas made by this Director. For example, the guy who plays acting Chief Liaodong of Guilou played a General of Silla in Song of Prince (or Seodongyo as it is known in Korean) that set up Princess Shanhua. And Wusong who played the bodygaurd of Maobama in Jumong had a cameo appearance in Song of Prince as a slave in the next episode.
Funny fun fact number three! Song Ii Guk is born on October 1, 1971, making him 36 years old. However Oh Yeonsu, who plays his mother Lady Lihua in the show, is born on 27 October 1971. So if you think about it, not only are they the same age, he's practically like 26 days older! My dad and i found this out on Wikipedia while searching for the historical legend on which the show was based on. Funny!
The love story is tragic, for the most part. At least from what i've seen up to. Theres a new girl in Jumongs life - which does not bode well.
Sigh!
Jumong, save Zhaoxinu, save Zhaoxinu!

Let me try to give you a run-down on the events that have been happening in my life.
This is not a usual practice of mine. Often, i like to pick out particular random (i did that on purpose) incidents that happen in the life of Michelle and talk about it like what and what and what. I do this because there is nothing else significant to talk about if you haven't already noticed. I'm a boring woman. Almost woman. Human being. I am a PERSON in denial who is desperately searching for something of worth to live for!
Oh well. You'll get over it.

Last Sunday, it was Mrs Chua, or as we so affectionally call her, Miss Lee's baby daughters one month birthday. The whole bunch of us met up to buy a present for her at Kiddie Palace. The whole event happened so typically. As in, we were all late. A major characteristic you'll find common in all drama clubbers. Yaya looked out for the cheapest things and, my goodness, wanted to get our teacher stretch mark cream.
Yes. We all know she will appreciate it. But really such concern cannot be shown so pubically Yaya. EQ, heard of EQ or not. EQ.
But our lovely Miss Lee is not in need of such help! Hahaha. She looked great and still very slim. Amazing.
Happy one month baby Annabel! You'll grow up to be as pretty as your mum! :))
Sunday was also one day before prom. So we went off in seperate directions because we are last minute people and were not ready. Another characteristic of drama clubbers. I'm serious it like comes with the CCA.

Monday was the day that many girls had been fretting over. It was prom! I think everybody was caught up in the drama hahaha. But in the end, everyone turned out looking absolutely gorgeous!! And their shoes probably hurt like crazy too. I'll have you know that that instead of new footwear i think i need new feet. The lovely Su aka Tom my boyfriend won the title of Miss TKGS. Well deserved, well deserved :D:D!!

Halfway through the night, my camera died.
This is because my camera is those kinds that run of AA batteries and not charged by electricity. You know those kinds? So, when the top prize of the Lucky Draw was a digital camera, i obviously was pining for it. It would have been the icing on the cake to end this wonderful evening.
But no. I won a $20 Parkway Voucher. Which beats the heck out of the chocolate that Marissa got so HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
To make up for it i ate an extra bit more. And i have a very big appetite.
Overall, prom was really fun. It was kind of slow at first but then got a lot more exciting. Oh gosh, and then there was dancing which was wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiild. I mean it. TK girls gone wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiild. I saw a side of Aisha i never thought i'd see. What was great was that everyone just didn't care and danced away. It was so fun!
Marissa's dad was driving us home and started telling us about how all guys want to do is get into our pants. I love that man you know. He embarrasses her so much.
I got home just in time for Song of Prince.

Tuesday was the day of Eunices prom! So, though i am not from Temasek, i decided to get myself involved with the action. I went over to her house where Shayus was over getting Eunice ready. As her bestfriend, i'll have you know that i did nothing but lie on her bed and play with her mogu pillow. I also cursed at Happy and screamed a couple of times. Spawn of the devil.
Eunice was done by 6 and looked like whoaaaaaaaaaa. Had i known Shayus was
this good, i would have hired her for my own prom! I had to do my makeup myself and i'm telling you, i am not skilled in this area. Not the point, but Eunice looked like a beauty and i bet that she had a great time.
I got home just in time for Jumong.

On wednesday i watched Om Shanti Om.

ALL THE HOT GIRLS PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR,OMMMMMMMMM SHANTI OMMMMMMMMMMMMM.ALL THE COOL BOYS PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR,OMMMMMMMMM SHANTI OMMMMMMMMMMMMM.To be honest, it wasn't that bad. Nana gave me a running commentary on all the famous actors and actresses that made cameo appearances. You should watch it!

Finally, thursday. I watched reruns again during the afternoon before heading down for the class chalet/ bbq. In a sentence, i got lost, ate, ate a lot more, went on the hunt for a bicycle kiosk, and met people my age who actually watched Jumong and Song of Prince. I believe they are my soulmates.

This has been the most eventful week of my life!
Actually, i seriously doubt so because i tend to exaggerate and i'm sure there have been other instances like this that i have clean forgotten about.
But I shall stop here before this post explodes.
Jumong comes back in the next episode!
Michelle went "Hey macadamia" :)
Oops! False alarm.
Michelle went "Hey macadamia" :)
This is the sms conversation my father (P. daddy) and i (MC da-money spanner pants) had while i was on my way home today.
P. daddy: Where are you
MCDMSP: Aljunied. On my way home. Don't tell me about jumong.
P. daddy: Ok. Car is not at home. Call 'ju' mum for transport.
MCDMSP: Heehee!
Yes. I understand this does not affect your L1R5. But still.
Recently, as many (or actually few but i
like to pretend that there are many) of my dear friends know, i have been engaged in vicious Korean drama watching.
Now let me explain. I fully understand peoples gripes towards them. This is because often, the fan base of such shows are centered around the majority of the heavy eyeliner wearing- rebonded hair- sparkly nailed types of girls.
As if you don't know what i'm talking about.
Anyway! Due to the association, many people have considered Korean drama watching to be "cheena" and hence abstained from doing so.
They fail to realise how much entertainment value such shows can bring. Yes! Thats right! Entertainment value!
For example, the current show my hip father and i have been following.
Jumong!
Not only is this show based on a legend, which is always interesting to learn about, it is a period drama made by the same director of Changjin. It is full of politics, drama, love, Song Ii- Gook, ingenious schemes, action, conflict, Song Ii - Gook and Song Ii- Gook.
Ok fine so he's not that handsome. But seriously, when you watch the show its like, you want him to win! Win! Its good shows like these that are able to play on the emotions of the viewer even though most of it is fiction. Since the viewers feel a special link to the protagonist and support them, they will no doubt support the show as well. They will watch every episode on the edge of their seats, hoping that Prince Lingbu will fall into a drain and die and Zhaoxinu and Jumong will get married and Daisu will shave.
I mean, its this special quality about theses kinds of Korean dramas. A good storyline is the clincher. You're not listening to a word i'm saying because all you're thinking is "MICHELLE AH LIAN" but its ok. I forgive you. Its takes a mature individual to understand whatever crap i just came up with. So do not be disheartened.
If you refuse to believe that this is true, then you may come up with various theories of your own. Electronic lightwaves sent through the television screen, hypnotic effect of the flying three-legged bird, the twitching of Lingbu's face thats just too irritating not to scowl at.
Various, various theories.
Oh fine. You just want to see the guy get the girl. But that reason is good enough!!
I'm off to google the show.
You may judge me... ok now.
